Strobing.. ✨✨

Recently ALL over the Internet, everyone seems to be talking about strobing. But what is this and what ever happened to contouring?

What is strobing?

With contouring, its the blending of darker and lighter shades to shape your facial features such as the cheeks, nose and chin, strobing does the complete opposite! It highlights the most prominent features of the face, using only a highlighter.

How do you strobe?

Strobing relies on highlighters and natural light to define your face.

Strobing is a lot simpler than contouring, all you have to do is find where the natural light hits the cheekbones, brows, nose and chin and then by applying the highlighter to define that area.

What products can I use to strobe?

You can use the highlighters you already have in your makeup bag or the lighter shades in your contouring palette.

Champagne colors work well on fairer skin while golds look great on darker skins. Look for products with a subtle shimmer and not glitter chunks.

You can use the NYX cream below or the MAC strobe cream.

I am going to personally try out strobing as I have no time to sit and contour! This is a great help and saves so much more time.
If any of you have tried out this technique already please leave your link below in the comments. 😚

  1. I love the idea of using those products for a nice highlight! I’d really like to get my hands on the Mac strobe cream, I’ve heard it looks great mixed with foundation for an all over dewy look! 🙂
