New Year’s Eve Make Up πŸ”΄βš«οΈπŸ”΅

Hi All 😘

For my last blog post of 2016. I decided to go for my personal favorite look!

➑️ Gold glitter cut crease with bright red lips πŸ’‹

This look is always a winner, especially if you want to steal the show at a New Year’s Eve party πŸŽ‰

Learn to do this eye by following the below instructions πŸ˜„

Products used-
* NYX eyeshadow primer

* Graftobian gold glitter in a pot

* Graftobian magic set

* Essence liquid liner

* Eylure lashes (any type that you prefer)

* MAC paint pot in ‘paintery’

* Morphe 35O palette or swiitch beauty 35O palette.

* MAC foiled eyeshadow in ‘joy toy’

* Any really bright red lipstick/lipliner of your choice. (I used the NYX liquid suede in the colour ‘kitten heels’

Method-
1. Start off by priming the eye with the eyeshadow primer. πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨

2. Take the finest brush you have and start making a fine line in the cut crease, choose a deep brown to do this.

3. Take a lighter brown and start blending over the line you made, this makes it look more natural.

4. Start by cleaning off the area just below the line that you made using the MAC paint pot, covering the full eye. πŸ‘

5. Then take your MAC foiled shadow and apply it to the eye, by this you are leaving a goldish undertone. (If you want a deeper gold look, you are welcome to use something else) πŸ’«

6. With another brush, take the magic set and put it on the eye, while immediately adding the glitter before it dries. 😍 ✨✨

7. Complete the look by adding a thin black line, or make it thicker if that’s what you prefer. πŸ–€

8. Lastly add the lashes to the eye! This gives it a defined look. πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ

For the lips all you have to do is line your lips and then add the red colour of your choice! πŸ’‹

And … within minutes you have a NYE’s look! πŸ’πŸΌ

Happy new year to each and every one of you!! ❀

Stay safeπŸ–€

Hi Everyone 😌

Hi all! I’m so sorry for not posting in all these months, it’s been super hectic. However I do have a review for you all that I did today 😘

Here goes……..

So I came across this amazing #swiitchmix and thought that I had to buy one! What attracted me towards this product is that the size is absolutely perfect and it’s extremely versatile. As you see in the below image, when I hold the bottom part, it fits almost perfectly into my hand which works wonders, so instead of leaving the house with foundation, lipstick and colour corrector marks all over my hands, this spares me that extra time and also saving me all the looks people give me as if I’ve just finished an art project of some sort πŸ˜‚. I also found that this product fits into my makeup kit without taking much space, in fact I usually put my contour comet between the #SwiitchMix and add it to my kit. I would recommend this to any of you who leave the house in a rush with realizing later on that your favorite white shirts are marked in foundation and hundreds of other colours, not withstanding all the makeup artists out there, in fact I recommend this to ALL of you ❀️

I purchased this on Swiitchbeauty which is a South African online store!

Holiday Essentials πŸ‘™πŸ‘’

Image does not belong to shadesofbeauty

Hi All!
So it’s that time of the year, where everyone is traveling, be it in and around your country or traveling to another country. It’s December! And the long awaited holiday fever has finally hit us all. β˜€οΈ

Do you find packing to be a huge problem? Isn’t it so difficult to decide what to take with and what to leave behind?
Today I’ve decided to pin point what you NEED to take with on a holiday, hopefully helping you make up your mind about the unnecessary stuff that seriously need to be left behind.
To make life easier, always make a list and tick off as you fill your suitcase.
* Rule Number 1- DO NOT take your whole shoe wardrobe with, all you need is 1 pump/flat shoe, and maybe a training shoe if you plan on hiking or sightseeing, and if really necessary then maybe a heel for a dinner night.
* When it comes to bulky items, try and get it as small as you can, by rolling it up neatly.
* T-shirt’s can be wrapped into the pants that will be worn with it.
* Remember that all you need to take with is a few t-shirt’s with 3 or 4 pants that you can mix and match. Most of us have the habit of buying a whole new wardrobe, especially when one is holidaying overseas, and if we over pack when going, there won’t be any space when coming back!
* All small delicate items, should be packed in between your clothing so that it has maximum support.
* Pajamas, stick to a maximum of two, it can always be washed
* Same goes with swimwear, only take a maximum of two which can be washed and swapped on either day.
* Underwear can be taken to its maximum capacity as it fits perfectly into those small compartments found in the luggage.
– What to take in your makeup/essentials   bag:

1. Ensure that you have small plastic bottles with any shampoos etc. that you need.

2. Take only one eyeliner, a mascara, and a small blush with one or two lipsticks. This would be for an easy everyday makeup look.

3. Remember most airports have restrictions when it comes to bottles of perfume. Make sure to take your smallest perfume you have.

4. Last but not least, SUNSCREEN is a huge must!!! ❗️
– What medications to take?

1. It’s crucial to take an antibiotic that can be used for a flu or a tummy bug which are popular in mostly tropical countries.

2. Make sure to take any allergy medications that you need so that you won’t have trouble with sinuses or a running nose

3. The most crucial one of them all is something for fever, it’s extremely important especially if you are traveling with children.

4. Suppositories are a huge help to kids, and breaks the fever almost instantly, and also works for nausea.

5. Any other medications that have been prescribed by your local GP.
For the rest of it, ladies do not forget to roll up your hair iron and pack it between your clothing, there’s no need for a hairdryer as almost every hotel caters for it.

Now sit back, and relax your holiday. β˜€οΈπŸ‘’πŸ‘™

Wedding Makeup πŸ’™

Hi All! 😁
So it’s been a hectic week, I’ve been celebrating Eid, and went to a small town where I didn’t have any wifi to post or to check posts. So that explains why I’ve been so MIA.
I then came back and had to attend a function the next day. So I took my time and did my makeup and dressed for the occasion.

South Africa is really beautiful around this time, it’s pretty hot and sometimes if we’re lucky, it rains so we can cool off!
Moving along to my makeup. I did a blue and gold smokey eye which matched my clothing. I don’t usually go dark on my eyes because my eyes are really small.

For the above look, I used-

  • MAC studio sculpt foundation in NC42
  • For the blue eyeshadow I used the creative glamour shimmer palette.
  • For the gold I used the graftobian mini luster shimmer pot.
  • I then used the Flormar black liner to finish off my look.
  • I used the Flormar rotating mascara.
  • I also used the LA girl blush bricks as a blusher which you won’t be able to see in the above picture.

All these products are available online, however if you would like to know where else they are available,  Drop a comment below and I will be sure to give you all the details.
In order to achieve the very angled cat eye look, you can use tape, that’s how I do it or you could invest in some shadow shields, I can’t really comment on the shadow shields as I haven’t tried it out yet, but I can confirm that using tape is a much cheaper alternative which works wonders.
What do you think of this look?
Let me know if you have any questions or queries.

Spring Time Inspired Eye πŸŒΈπŸƒ

 Hi Everyone 😊

So spring has come and it’s time for bright colours, so why not take the chance and do bright makeup to match it? πŸ”΄πŸ”΅

Today I did a green and gold eye! I did this look specifically because of the season, and also because green and gold compliment each other so well! These two colours put together look great on any skin tone! πŸŒΌπŸƒ

To achieve the true colour to the eye, remember to first apply a white base or primer. This ensures that the colour that is seen is the colour that will be on the eye, whereas when the eyeshadows are applied on the skin, it sometimes loses the vibrancy and could blend in with the skin colour.

I didn’t want to do a very loud eye, so I decided to do the normal, prepping and priming to the eye and then doing the makeup.

In the above picture I used MAC eyeshadows, MAC liquid liner, MAC foundation, NYX primer, Flormar Rotating Mascara.

The eyeshadows are great, very pigmented and soft when applied to the eyes, the liquid liner has glitter, finishing off this look perfectly. The primer allows the eyeshadows to stay on the eyes without any fall out, also allowing it to last hours on the eye without losing colour or creasing. The mascara is heaven sent, if you are a regular follower of my blog, you would now know that I’m a major fan of the rotating mascara. I’m so obsessed with how it gives the lashes a great boost in length and darkens it without the lumps that mascara usually leaves.

I usually always start with the outward part of the eye, then gently fixing a colour to the middle and therefore continuing by completing the look. As you can see, I did green on the outer and top part of the eye, blending gold into the middle and taking it a bit higher. Something extremely different to what I usually try out.

Remember, don’t be shy to play with colour, you never know how it could turn out and to your surprise it could be something that could actually work out for you. πŸ’

Any other spring looks you would like to know about? Or anything else that you would like me to blog about, let me know In the comments below.

The Body Shops Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome πŸ

Hello everyone 😁

Today I’m gonna do a review on the honey bronze domes that I purchased from The Body Shop. It comes in 3 highlighting shades, Golden, Pink and Bronze.

If you do not enjoy creamy blushes, this product is not for you. It’s not as easy as just dipping your brush in and applying it to the face. With these, you have to take it and apply directly to the face and the best part is that they are so rich in colour!

They are tiny little domes, which helps with having a firmer grip when applying it.
I find this product to be extremely pigmented. The golden highlighter is stunning, but the pink highlighter is a win for me! It has a golden-pink tone to it and is extremely beautiful 😍 one can only fully appreciate it when it’s on the skin.

I didn’t buy the bronze colour because I don’t use much bronzer on myself but for those of you who like bronzers, this is your go to product! It would be perfect for contouring as you can apply it in a straight line to the face.

I applied the golden colour over a blush I had on, it blended it quite well, although I had to mix it in a bit with my finger.

I would recommend this product if you enjoy using creamy blushes, highlighters or bronzers.

The colours are beautiful, the product is extremely pigmented and the shine it gives is amazing. I find that the pink colour can definitely be used as a blush, because of the pinkish tone, although the gold shines at night which is a bonus for us all.

This product is also very tiny and versatile and can easily fit into your handbag or makeup kit.

It stays on all day when applied in the morning without having to set it, and it seriously doesn’t lose its colour! It’s great for a party at night, or busy days at the office.

It goes for R150 at The Body Shop, and it will last you ages as you don’t need to apply an excess.

Below I’ve taken pictures with the flash, and without in order to see the difference.
