New Year’s Eve Make Up πŸ”΄βš«οΈπŸ”΅

Hi All 😘

For my last blog post of 2016. I decided to go for my personal favorite look!

➑️ Gold glitter cut crease with bright red lips πŸ’‹

This look is always a winner, especially if you want to steal the show at a New Year’s Eve party πŸŽ‰

Learn to do this eye by following the below instructions πŸ˜„

Products used-
* NYX eyeshadow primer

* Graftobian gold glitter in a pot

* Graftobian magic set

* Essence liquid liner

* Eylure lashes (any type that you prefer)

* MAC paint pot in ‘paintery’

* Morphe 35O palette or swiitch beauty 35O palette.

* MAC foiled eyeshadow in ‘joy toy’

* Any really bright red lipstick/lipliner of your choice. (I used the NYX liquid suede in the colour ‘kitten heels’

Method-
1. Start off by priming the eye with the eyeshadow primer. πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨

2. Take the finest brush you have and start making a fine line in the cut crease, choose a deep brown to do this.

3. Take a lighter brown and start blending over the line you made, this makes it look more natural.

4. Start by cleaning off the area just below the line that you made using the MAC paint pot, covering the full eye. πŸ‘

5. Then take your MAC foiled shadow and apply it to the eye, by this you are leaving a goldish undertone. (If you want a deeper gold look, you are welcome to use something else) πŸ’«

6. With another brush, take the magic set and put it on the eye, while immediately adding the glitter before it dries. 😍 ✨✨

7. Complete the look by adding a thin black line, or make it thicker if that’s what you prefer. πŸ–€

8. Lastly add the lashes to the eye! This gives it a defined look. πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ

For the lips all you have to do is line your lips and then add the red colour of your choice! πŸ’‹

And … within minutes you have a NYE’s look! πŸ’πŸΌ

Happy new year to each and every one of you!! ❀

Stay safeπŸ–€

Hi Everyone 😌

Hi all! I’m so sorry for not posting in all these months, it’s been super hectic. However I do have a review for you all that I did today 😘

Here goes……..

So I came across this amazing #swiitchmix and thought that I had to buy one! What attracted me towards this product is that the size is absolutely perfect and it’s extremely versatile. As you see in the below image, when I hold the bottom part, it fits almost perfectly into my hand which works wonders, so instead of leaving the house with foundation, lipstick and colour corrector marks all over my hands, this spares me that extra time and also saving me all the looks people give me as if I’ve just finished an art project of some sort πŸ˜‚. I also found that this product fits into my makeup kit without taking much space, in fact I usually put my contour comet between the #SwiitchMix and add it to my kit. I would recommend this to any of you who leave the house in a rush with realizing later on that your favorite white shirts are marked in foundation and hundreds of other colours, not withstanding all the makeup artists out there, in fact I recommend this to ALL of you ❀️

I purchased this on Swiitchbeauty which is a South African online store!

Cut crease with a touch of glitter βœ¨βœ¨

Hello lovely people ☺️

So it’s that time of the year again where I’ve gotta juggle between assignments, exams as well as practicing my makeup skills.  πŸ’…πŸ»

But in the midst of it all… I’m happiest when I’m doing some makeup.  πŸ˜‹

I do it because it takes my mind off the usual routine of life. It’s a hobby and passion which I thoroughly enjoy!

Here’s some eye makeup that I did a few days ago:

MAC Foiled Shadow. πŸ‘‘

Hello all!
Hope the holidays were amazing!!
Since early Jan, I was back at work and studies have started again.
Today I’m doing a review on the new MAC Faerie Whispers foiled shadow that I recently purchased.

These shadows come in 8 colors, all of which are based on fairy colours, which are pinks, purples, bronzes etc.
I bought the colour ‘Joy Toy’ which was the only one that actually grabbed my attention. It’s a shimmery pink colour which could pass as champagne in different lighting.
It goes for R280 per shadow and comes in a 3g container, which is extremely strong.
The reason why I bought this shadow was because it was foiled and it’s very difficult to find them over here in South Africa, and buying them online works out too expensive due to the rand-dollar exchange.
Below I have two pics on which I’ve done two different types of eye makeup to show you how it looks when applied with MAC fix it spray, and without.
This product was worth every cent as there wasn’t fall out and a little goes a very long way! I just gently dabbed a bit on my brush and applied it to the eye 😍 and this was the results!!

This is the eyeshadow without fix it spray

As you can see without the Mac fix it spray, it’s pinkish, and with it it has a goldish tone to it!
Hope this review helped you decide whether or not you would purchase it.
Love,

Subtle Bridal Makeup Look. πŸ‘°πŸ»

Hi Beauties.  πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ

Hope you all are enjoying the final stretch of 2015. It’s been pretty hot over here in South Africa, with temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius. β˜€οΈ
Today I’ve done a look that can be easily done on brides, it’s more of a natural look, with a touch of smoke to the ends of the eyes. This look will go as a dramatic bridal look, and once the ends are abit lightened, it goes perfectly for a natural bridal look.
What I Used-
For the face- MAC studio fix liquid foundation.
Eyes- Prepped the eye with the NYX eye primer, then I used the Diamond Glow by Maybelline in number 6. I used a waterproof based eyeliner to complete the look, and the MUD mascara for the lashes.
Please note- in most of my images, I do not use fake lashes, it’s the actual lashes of the person once I’ve used mascara.
For the rest of the face, (which is cropped out) I used the MAC mineralize blush in the colour ‘Cheeky Bronze’ and I completed it with adding the STILA all day liquid lipstick in Beso. (both examples of these can be found in my previous blogposts)

When I have the permission to add full pictures up of a person, I will definitely do so.
What are your comments on this look? Would this be something you would go for on your wedding day?

Do any of you think I should start an Instagram account for shadesofbeauty?

Every Eye Has A Silver Lining πŸ’‹

Hello lovely people. πŸ˜€
Not sure about other countries, but here in South Africa we are now at the hardest part of the year, exams and studying which lasts all day and for those who can manage, it lasts practically the whole night too. πŸ“šπŸ˜

Today I’m going to do a review on the makeup I did a weekend ago. Very simple yet elegant! πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ

Since it was a night function and the dress was kind of silver, I opted for a subtle black and silver smokey eye and then included a bold red lip to finish off…

Products I used-
β€’MAC studio fix in NC35
β€’LA Girl beauty brick blush in the Glow palette
β€’Stila all day liquid lipstick
β€’Flormar rotating mascara
β€’Flormar liquid liner pen.
β€’Eyeshadows- I mixed some of my MAC as well as another eyeshadow palette I got from dubai.
                          πŸŽ€πŸ’₯πŸŽ€

This beauty didn’t need anything extra, not even lashes. She’s a natural, the makeup just enhanced her stunning features. 😘

It’s always a pleasure to work with sweet clients who put their full trust into your hands. ❀️

Spring Time Inspired Eye πŸŒΈπŸƒ

All rights to this image reserved to shadesofbeauty

 Hi Everyone 😊

So spring has come and it’s time for bright colours, so why not take the chance and do bright makeup to match it? πŸ”΄πŸ”΅

Today I did a green and gold eye! I did this look specifically because of the season, and also because green and gold compliment each other so well! These two colours put together look great on any skin tone! πŸŒΌπŸƒ

To achieve the true colour to the eye, remember to first apply a white base or primer. This ensures that the colour that is seen is the colour that will be on the eye, whereas when the eyeshadows are applied on the skin, it sometimes loses the vibrancy and could blend in with the skin colour.

I didn’t want to do a very loud eye, so I decided to do the normal, prepping and priming to the eye and then doing the makeup.

In the above picture I used MAC eyeshadows, MAC liquid liner, MAC foundation, NYX primer, Flormar Rotating Mascara.

The eyeshadows are great, very pigmented and soft when applied to the eyes, the liquid liner has glitter, finishing off this look perfectly. The primer allows the eyeshadows to stay on the eyes without any fall out, also allowing it to last hours on the eye without losing colour or creasing. The mascara is heaven sent, if you are a regular follower of my blog, you would now know that I’m a major fan of the rotating mascara. I’m so obsessed with how it gives the lashes a great boost in length and darkens it without the lumps that mascara usually leaves.

I usually always start with the outward part of the eye, then gently fixing a colour to the middle and therefore continuing by completing the look. As you can see, I did green on the outer and top part of the eye, blending gold into the middle and taking it a bit higher. Something extremely different to what I usually try out.

Remember, don’t be shy to play with colour, you never know how it could turn out and to your surprise it could be something that could actually work out for you. πŸ’

Any other spring looks you would like to know about? Or anything else that you would like me to blog about, let me know In the comments below.
